A celebration of the re-launch of Armed Forces Journal was held in Washington, D.C., on May 31 at the conclusion of the first day of the Journal’s conference, the Power & Limits of Jointness.Starting with its June 2006 issue, AFJ has a fresh new redesign that confirms the larger change in the magazine’s content that has taken place in recent months and establishes it as a journal of ideas and debate. Barry Rosenberg, director of Defense News Media Group Conferences, raised a toast to the new AFJ. Armed Forces Journal Editor Tom Donnelly said, “We want to make this magazine a forum for debate and discussion for all voices in the defense industry.” In keeping with that goal, the new Armed Forces Journal Web site also was introduced this week. Its emphasis is clearly to stimulate ongoing discussion of the ideas contained in the magazine, and to giving readers an opportunity to interact with AFJ’s editors and contribute to the contents of the magazine.
